Jeris & Wim’s Rustic Summer Wedding
I was really hoping the weather would cooperate for Jeris & Wim’s wedding day. Their engagement session had been met with some pretty wild storms. But honestly, we still walked away with some seriously cool photos. Thankfully, the weather turned out to be absolutely perfect and their wedding day was beautiful!
Getting Ready
Schultz Rustic Barn in Kiel, Wisconsin was the dreamiest backdrop for their day. This venue has no shortage of stunning photo spots, from the charming barn to the surrounding greenery. I arrived at the bridal suite to start the day with detail shots and to capture those quiet, meaningful moments of Jeris getting ready alongside her bridesmaids and her mom. Meanwhile, Wim was preparing for their first look inside the barn. Equal parts excitement and nerves in the best way.
FIrst Look
Jeris & Wim then shared a truly special first look, where they also read their vows privately to one another. These moments were intimate, emotional, and such a beautiful way for them to connect before the rest of the day unfolded. Afterward, we spent some time taking couples portraits before the rest of the bridal party joined us for photos.

The Ceremony
The ceremony took place under a gorgeous canopy of trees and was nothing short of magical. It was heartfelt, serene, and filled with so much love. One of those ceremonies where you can feel how deeply connected everyone is.
The Reception
Once the “I do’s” were official, the reception kicked off and the party was in full swing. As the night went on, we snuck out for some golden sunset portraits. Those soft summer colors were unreal.
And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, the rain rolled in. Before I headed out, we grabbed umbrellas and snuck out again for some romantic, rain-kissed portraits that felt straight out of a movie. Jeris is also a photographer so she was so willing to try out some creative techniques!
But the story didn’t end there...
A couple months later, Jeris & Wim put their wedding attire back on, because honestly, the only thing better than wearing your wedding dress once is wearing it again. This time with their horse, Gibson. Getting to photograph them together with their furry (and very handsome) friend was such a fun and meaningful way to wrap up their wedding story.
