Short and sweet celebration at Gordon Lodge in Door County, Wisconsin.
The First Look
The day started out with a private first look between the couple. Race was so excited to see his bride-to-be. Lauren looked so beautiful, and it was so special to be able to capture them seeing each other for the first time before saying “I do.” The emotions were high, and you could feel the love and excitement radiating from them both. It was such a privilege to witness and document this intimate moment.
Portraits on the Pier
We then went out to the pier to take some portraits. It was a little later in the day, so the lighting was perfect, creating a warm and dreamy glow around them. The portraits were so fun and romantic, capturing their joy and love effortlessly. The backdrop of the water and beautiful blue sky made for the most magical setting. They laughed, twirled, and simply soaked in the moment together.
The Ceremony
Next, it was time to get married! Race & Lauren planned their ceremony to start right before sunset, so obviously, I was obsessed with the lighting! The ambiance was nothing short of breathtaking. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they officially became husband and wife! Race’s grandfather officiated, making their ceremony even more special and personal. Every word spoken was heartfelt, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.
Family Photos
After the ceremony, we made sure to get a photo with all friends and family. I even got in on one after Race’s grandmother insisted that I was part of the family for the day! Moments like these remind me why I love what I do so much. It’s not just about taking photos, but about forming connections and becoming part of these beautiful stories.
I always make sure to ask my couples before the wedding day for a family photo list to make sure nobody gets missed!
The Reception
Then it was time to eat and party! Race and Lauren guided their guests into the beautifully decorated boat room for a delicious dinner and heartfelt speeches. Every toast was filled with love, laughter, and a few happy tears. The atmosphere was so joyful as everyone celebrated this amazing couple.
The sun was glowing just right after this so we took advantage of the perfect lighting to take some more romantic couple portraits.
Final Thoughts
This was truly such a special day, filled with so much love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. I am beyond grateful to have been part of it and to have captured these beautiful memories. Race and Lauren, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and endless love!
