There are some weddings that just radiate love, joy, and warmth, and Ben and Liz’s special day was exactly that. From the moment they reached out to me, I knew this was going to be a wedding filled with deep love, meaningful traditions, and the presence of their closest friends and family.
Engagement Shoot at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve
I have known Ben for quite some time since he is good friends with my younger sister. So when he asked me to capture his wedding day, I was beyond excited! Meeting Liz for the first time was just as wonderful. Their engagement session at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve in Suamico, WI, was a perfect reflection of their relationship—fun, heartfelt, and so evidently full of love. Every frame from that session spoke volumes about their deep connection and excitement for their future together.
The Wedding Day
A Morning of Love and Anticipation
The day started at Liz’s home, where she got ready surrounded by her mother and bridesmaids. While they prepared for the ceremony, I took the opportunity to capture all of her carefully chosen details, from her elegant dress to the sentimental jewelry that added a personal touch. The anticipation grew as Ben arrived for a private first look—a beautifully intimate moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Portraits at Green Isle Park
Before the ceremony, we made our way to Green Isle Park for bridal party portraits. The lush greenery provided a stunning backdrop as we captured a mix of fun, candid, and posed moments with the wedding party. Individual portraits of Ben and Liz highlighted their excitement, while their couple’s photos were simply breathtaking—their love shining through in every shot.

A Meaningful Ceremony at St. Paul Lutheran
The ceremony took place at St. Paul Lutheran, where faith and love intertwined beautifully. The service was deeply meaningful, emphasizing the couple’s shared beliefs and their commitment to each other and God. After officially becoming husband and wife, Ben and Liz took a moment to greet and thank their guests in the church basement for a cake reception. A special highlight was Liz’s connection to the school, where she shared a sweet moment passing out cake to some of her young students—a memory that was both touching and heartwarming.
A Celebration at Badger State Brewery
The reception at Badger State Brewery in Green Bay was a true reflection of Ben and Liz’s personalities—beautiful, inviting, and full of joy. Their decor was elegant and perfectly suited to their tastes. Guests enjoyed a delicious barbecue buffet before an evening of heartfelt speeches. One of the most memorable moments was Ben’s father delivering a speech that had the entire room in stitches!
Dancing, Lawn Games, and a Sunset to Remember
After dinner, the newlyweds shared their first dance, followed by a lively dance floor open to all their guests. With music filling the air inside, outside, guests enjoyed lawn games, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. As the sun began to set, we took advantage of the dreamy golden hour light for some final couple portraits—an absolutely magical way to close out such a beautiful day.
